A Treatise…..

PREFACE

Daniel’s words were born out of a frustration with the present music scene: the same clubs with the same “big name” djs playing the same music, £10 drinks, a general lack of community and vibe in the broadest sense of the term….

Maybe it’s just me, but I miss the community feeling I used to find in music. I miss house parties with records covering the living room floor, backyard jams til the early morning, hours spent vibing out to new & exciting sounds, folks actually dancing and ENJOYING themselves….It’s not to say that this doesn’t happen any more, and I for one am lucky enough to have spent time amongst like minded souls expanding my horizons, but it’s becoming a rarer occasion than I would like.

So onwards……..

SOLUTIONS

I realise that I am merely one (small) man in an immense scene of music, but I feel a driving urge to go against the flow of faceless DJ shows and “artist-fan relationships” (do I even have “fans”?!?!). So here is my proposition to all of you:

  • If you make music, let’s jam. I’m serious, even if we’ve never met & are merely “facebook acquaintances” let’s vibe out and do something. Let’s go record digging, play each other some new music, build on some tracks: make CONNECTIONS.

  • If you’re throwing a house/garden/tree house party let me bring my laptop and play for you. I don’t care if it’s 20 or 100 people – throw me a tenner towards petrol, even buy me a drink. Let me meet you fam, chill with you: let’s CELEBRATE.

  • If you’re a listener: let’s connect. I’ve never been a “listen to my music but don’t talk to me” kind of guy. Let me grab you a coffee, talk about life, music, politics….whatever. Let’s BUILD.

I’m going to be all over the place (UK & Abroad) in the next 12 months, so if you’re anywhere near the area let’s connect & put some COMMUNITY back into this music. I’m serious folks, let’s build and elevate.

Bournemouth – In the next 2 to 4 weeks….and fleeting visits throughout the year.
